Carlos Ulberg stunned the UFC world with a lightning-fast knockout of Alonzo Menifield in St. Louis, marking the third-fastest finish in the division's history.
In a display of raw power and precision, Carlos Ulberg annihilated Alonzo Menifield in a mere 12 seconds at UFC Fight Night in St. Louis on Saturday night.
The two fighters squared off in the Octagon, with Menifield initiating the attack. However, a misstep sent him tumbling into the cage, creating an opening for Ulberg to unleash a barrage of fists.
Ulberg's lightning-fast left connected with Menifield's chin, stunning him. A follow-up right sent the No. 11-ranked light heavyweight to the mat, prompting the referee to intervene and declare Ulberg the victor.
The swift finish entered the annals of UFC history as the third-fastest knockout in the light heavyweight division. It marked a resounding triumph for Ulberg, who extended his winning streak to six fights.
Ulberg's impressive performance ignited a sense of trepidation among the division's top fighters. "Anybody in that top 10, I'll destroy anybody in my way," he declared after the fight.
Ulberg's ascent has been rapid, with his last defeat coming in March 2021. He has since showcased a devastating combination of striking power and relentless aggression.
Menifield, on the other hand, entered the bout with a less stellar record, having won only four of his last five fights. The loss to Ulberg dealt a significant setback to his aspirations in the light heavyweight ranks.
Ulberg's victory earned him an additional $50,000 as a Performance of the Night bonus. The Brazilian is now poised to make a further climb up the rankings, with UFC champion Alex Pereira and top contender Jiri Prochazka firmly in his sights.
Ulberg's meteoric rise has sent shockwaves through the UFC, and his lightning-fast knockout has left fans and fighters alike in awe. As he continues his ascent, Ulberg has established himself as a formidable force to be reckoned with in the light heavyweight division.
