Despite claims of sexual violence against Israeli hostages by Hamas terrorists, the United Nations has failed to address the situation in a meeting of the Security Council. The organization has also faced criticism for ignoring the plight of Israeli hostages and for alleged bias against Israel.

The United Nations has come under fire for its failure to address the issue of sexual violence committed against Israeli hostages by Hamas terrorists. Anne Bayefsky, director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust, expressed astonishment at the organization's inaction. She highlighted the absence of any UN official from a Security Council meeting held to discuss the plight of Israeli hostages.

The planned session aimed to examine ways to address hostage-taking and sexual crimes committed against hostages. However, Special Representative of the Secretary General on Sexual Violence in Conflict Pramila Patten withdrew her appearance, raising concerns about political motivations.

Fox News Digital has confirmed the Times of Israel's report that Patten's absence was politically driven, stemming from pressure not to prioritize the plight of Israeli hostages over Palestinians.

Israel's Ambassador Gilad Erdan condemned the UN's inaction, stating that the organization had "failed to have its lead official on sexual violence in conflict address Security Council members at a meeting to discuss the hostages held by Hamas terrorists." Erdan emphasized the importance of this issue and called for UN agencies and the Security Council to accelerate the release of hostages.

Geraldine Boezio, a spokeswoman for Patten, explained the decision while emphasizing the Special Representative's support for the release of hostages. However, she confirmed that Patten's office is engaged in discussions with the Israeli government on addressing sexual violence in conflict.

Bayefsky accused UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres of refusing to include Hamas on the annual list of parties suspected of committing sexual violence. She also criticized UN Special Rapporteurs Francesca Albanese and Reem Alsalem for allegedly pushing the false narrative that Israelis had committed similar atrocities.

Fox News Digital previously reported that Alsalem's statement on Hamas's sexual violence crimes primarily focused on blaming Israel. When approached for comment, Alsalem declined to respond.

The Israeli government has repeatedly called for Guterres' resignation, accusing him of failing to confront Hamas terrorism and its sexual crimes. Last month, Foreign Minister Israel Katz criticized Guterres for omitting Hamas's sexual violence in a report on conflict-related sexual violence.

Farhan Aziz Haq, a spokesman for Guterres, denied the allegations, stating that the Secretary-General had condemned the attacks and called for investigations into sexual violence. He highlighted Patten's visit to Israel and her briefings to the Security Council and the media on her findings.

A spokesman for Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the United States ambassador to the United Nations, declined to comment on Patten's absence.

The UN's disregard for sexual violence against Israelis and its neglect of the hostage crisis have raised serious concerns about the organization's impartiality and its commitment to addressing human rights violations.
