Constitutional law expert Jonathan Turley criticizes the media for overlooking evidence suggesting Hunter Biden's dealings may have violated foreign agent registration laws and influenced U.S. policy during his father's vice presidency.

The Department of Justice's (DOJ) recent allegations that Hunter Biden received $3 million from a Romanian oligarch to sway U.S. policy have sparked outrage among legal experts, who accuse the media of ignoring overwhelming evidence of corruption.

Constitutional law attorney Jonathan Turley, a Fox News contributor, expressed frustration over the media's failure to address the "overwhelming evidence" suggesting Hunter Biden violated the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA).

"With Hunter Biden, they have consistently ignored overwhelming evidence that he was receiving millions to influence policy," Turley said.

The DOJ's allegations, based on documents submitted by U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware David Weiss, detail Hunter Biden's alleged involvement with Romanian oligarch Gabriel Popoviciu, who faces criminal investigation in Romania.

The documents reveal contracts between Hunter Biden's firm and Popoviciu's companies, indicating potential influence peddling during President Biden's tenure as vice president.

However, despite the damning evidence, Turley noted that the DOJ has consistently overlooked the possibility of FARA violations in Hunter Biden's case.

"It's very frustrating... that we don't understand why there was not a charge under FARA for being an unregistered foreign agent," Turley said.

The Trump administration aggressively pursued FARA charges against individuals and organizations, including former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort. However, the Biden administration has taken a different approach, raising questions about potential political bias.

During an impeachment inquiry into then-President Trump, Republicans presented evidence suggesting that Hunter Biden may have taken money in exchange for U.S. policy influence. Despite the allegations, no charges were ever filed.

House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., recently stated that "bank records don't lie," referring to the financial transactions between Hunter Biden and Popoviciu.

Legal experts argue that the DOJ's allegations warrant further investigation and possible charges against Hunter Biden, including FARA violations.

"The question is, well, why didn't you charge him on the kidnaping?" Turley said, using an analogy to illustrate the inconsistency of charging Hunter Biden for influence peddling rather than FARA violations.

The media's avoidance of this scandal raises concerns about its commitment to unbiased reporting and public accountability. The allegations against Hunter Biden demand rigorous scrutiny and exposure to ensure transparency and justice.
