Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy claims that Vice President Kamala Harris's choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate is a mistake and will benefit the Trump campaign.
Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has expressed his belief that Vice President Kamala Harris's decision to select Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate is a mistake and will provide a much-needed boost to the Trump campaign.
On "Jesse Watters Primetime" on Fox News, Ramaswamy stated, "This gives us the reset that we needed." "This is a gift from on high from the Democratic Party."

Ramaswamy also provided his analysis of the vice presidential position's significance. "The reality is the vice president is far less relevant," he said. "He's not going to be the one setting policy. The reason I actually find this decision fascinating is that it gives us a lens into the way that Kamala Harris makes decisions."
According to Ramaswamy, Harris's selection of Walz suggests that she lacks a clear ideological viewpoint. "I don't think Kamala Harris is particularly ideological," he said. "I don't think she has far-left ideology. I don't think she has any ideology."

Ramaswamy further argued that the Walz pick will enable the Trump campaign to regain momentum. "We are on path once again to a victory because Pennsylvania could again be in play for Republicans," he said.
He also highlighted Walz's alleged inconsistency in messaging. "The reality is that he can't be a unifier but also somebody who's alienating [over] 70 million Americans as just ‘plain weird,’ as he calls it," Ramaswamy said.

Walz has gained attention for his comments criticizing Republicans, calling them "weird" and accusing them of seeking to restrict access to books and healthcare.
Despite his prominence in Minnesota, Walz has limited national recognition. According to a recent survey by Marist College for NPR and "PBS NewsHour," 70% of Americans are unfamiliar with the governor and unable to formulate an opinion about him.
Following the announcement, the Harris campaign reported raising over $20 million from grassroots supporters, marking one of their most successful fundraising days this cycle.
The Harris-Walz campaign has not yet commented on Ramaswamy's claims.
