Wisconsin Black Leaders Overwhelmingly Endorse Biden for President

With over 50 prominent Black elected officials backing him, Joe Biden has secured the resounding support of Wisconsin's African American community in his bid for the presidency.

Milwaukee, WI - The Biden campaign received a significant boost in Wisconsin on Tuesday, as over 50 Black elected leaders across the state threw their support behind former Vice President Joe Biden. The endorsement event, held in Milwaukee, was attended by Congresswoman Gwen Moore, Mayor Cavalier Johnson, and State Senator LaTonya Johnson, who announced their backing of Biden along with a long list of other Black leaders.

"I am honored and humbled to receive the endorsement of these esteemed leaders," said Biden. "Their unwavering support is a testament to the critical need for a leader who will fight for racial justice, economic opportunity, and healthcare for all."

The endorsement comes as Biden faces a tough battle in Wisconsin, a key swing state that helped propel Donald Trump to victory in 2016. However, the overwhelming support from Black elected leaders is a sign that Biden is making significant inroads in the state's African American community.

"Joe Biden is the only candidate who understands the challenges facing our community," said Congresswoman Gwen Moore. "He has a proven track record of fighting for civil rights, economic opportunity, and affordable healthcare, and I am confident that he will lead our country forward."

Mayor Cavalier Johnson echoed Moore's sentiments, saying, "Joe Biden has been a champion for our community for decades, and I know he will continue to fight for us as president."

State Senator LaTonya Johnson emphasized Biden's empathy and compassion, saying, "Joe Biden cares about the people of Wisconsin, and he will work tirelessly to improve the lives of all our citizens."

The endorsements from these prominent leaders are a major coup for the Biden campaign in Wisconsin. They signal that Biden has strong support from the state's Black community, which is a key demographic in the upcoming election.

In addition to the endorsements, the Biden campaign also announced that it has hired a number of Black staffers in Wisconsin, including State Director Anjali Vaya, Deputy State Director Leroy Bergland, and Communications Director Adriana Van Susteren.

The Biden campaign's investment in Wisconsin is a sign that the former vice president is serious about winning the state and flipping it from red to blue in November. With the support of Black elected leaders, Biden is well-positioned to make significant gains in the state's African American community and emerge victorious in the Badger State.
